On top of the storm chaos, we’re also saying goodbye to a Wichita staple—Towne West Square is officially closing. I’ve got all the details (and a little nostalgia) below if you want to take one last stroll before it’s gone.

After decades as a west-side staple, Towne West Square is officially closing its doors. For many in Wichita, it was more than just a shopping center—it was a hangout spot, a place for first jobs, weekend plans, and maybe even a first date or two. Whether you remember lining up at the movie theater, hunting down deals at your favorite store, or just walking the mall with friends, it’s hard not to feel a little nostalgic.

The good news? Not everything is going away. Boulevard Theatres, JCPenney, and Dillard’s will stay open. But the rest of the mall will soon be a memory.

If you want one last look around, mark your calendar for a final walkthrough on June 29. It’s a chance to say goodbye, take it all in, and maybe share a few stories.
