I’m loving this rain! It’s making for some great sunsets and amazing clouds. In between storms the girls keep begging to go swimming, so we’ve been doing plenty of that. I’ve also had quite a few roofs needing replaced recently during my real estate deals, so just a PSA that you might want to have yours checked out if you haven’t already!

In other news, Park City's new aquatic center is officially open just in time for summer, I've got a roundup of this weekend's best events, and in this week's YouTube video I break down why Wichita is doing the exact opposite of most major U.S. cities right now.

Let’s get into it!

Park City’s New Aquatic Center-

Officially Open!

After years of planning and anticipation, Park City officially opened the doors to its brand-new Park City Aquatic Center last weekend—and it’s already making a splash with families looking for a fun way to cool off this summer.

Located in Hap McLean Park, the new facility replaces the city’s former public pool, which closed more than a decade ago. For many residents, the opening marks the return of a community gathering place that had been missing for years.

And this isn’t just a simple neighborhood pool. The new $7.5 million aquatic center features water slides, a splash pad, a climbing wall, lap swimming areas, and multiple water zones designed for different ages and activity levels, making it a destination for both young kids and adults.

One of the most impressive things about the project is its affordability. City leaders intentionally designed the facility to be a place families could visit regularly without breaking the budget. Daily admission is just $4 for Park City residents and $5 for non-residents, with discounted rates for seniors and season pass options available for frequent visitors.

📍 Location: Hap McLean Park, Park City
🕒 Summer Hours:
• Monday–Saturday: Noon–6:00 PM
• Sunday: 1:00–6:00 PM
📅 Season: Through August 1, 2026

The aquatic center is also just the beginning of bigger improvements planned for the park. Additional renovations to Hap McLean Park are expected to continue over the next year, creating even more recreational opportunities for the community.

For families in the Wichita area, this is one more great option for summer fun close to home. Whether you're racing down a waterslide, relaxing by the pool, or letting the kids burn off energy at the splash pad, Park City’s newest attraction is officially open—and judging by opening weekend, it’s already becoming one of the area's favorite summertime destinations.

WHY WICHITA KS IS THE OPPOSITE OF EVERY MAJOR U.S. CITY

While families are getting priced out of Denver, Austin, and Phoenix, Wichita is going in the opposite direction. Median home price still sitting at half the national average, Boeing just dropped a $1.3 billion investment into the city, and a $192 million entertainment district is under construction on the northeast side.

I put together a full breakdown of what's actually happening here and why the timing matters. Check it out below!
