What an incredible week of spring weather. Seriously, I wish it could stay like this all year. I don’t have a ton of personal updates this week, I’ve mostly just been running around like crazy with how busy the spring market has gotten. We did make one fun move though… Kayla and I officially bought some dirt of our own. I’ll share more on that soon.

In other news, there’s a big new park coming out west that could turn into a go-to spot for families, I’ve got a packed list of events this weekend if you’re looking to get out and enjoy this weather, and I just dropped a new video breaking down the one area in Wichita that I think is about to take off in a big way over the next year.

Coming to Goddard - Legacy Bank Park!

There’s a big project taking shape just west of Wichita—and it’s one worth keeping on your radar. Legacy Bank Park is coming to Goddard, with an anticipated grand opening in spring 2027, and it’s being designed as much more than your typical neighborhood park.

This nearly $12 million development is planned as a regional destination—a place where families, events, and outdoor fun all come together in one spot.

So what can you expect when it opens? Quite a bit. The park will feature a destination playground, a large indoor/outdoor pavilion, and private event spaces that can be used for everything from birthday parties to community gatherings.

One of the standout features will be a large water area designed for more than just looks—it’s expected to include opportunities for fishing, kayaking, walking trails, and even wildlife observation, making it a place you could easily spend an entire afternoon.

Beyond that, plans also include:
• Pickleball courts
• A dog park
• A food truck area
• Scenic paths for walking and exercising

And that’s just phase one. Future additions could bring even more excitement, including an amphitheater and boathouse, helping turn the space into a true hub for events and entertainment.

📍 Where: Southwest corner of Maple St. & 183rd St. in Goddard
📆 Opening: Anticipated Spring 2027

What makes this especially exciting is what it represents for the area. With continued growth happening on Wichita’s west side, Legacy Bank Park is expected to become a go-to gathering place not just for Goddard, but for the entire region—a spot where you can catch an event, enjoy the outdoors, or just meet up with friends and family.

And when opening day finally arrives, don’t expect a quiet ribbon cutting—the city is already planning a full community celebration with music, food, and activities to mark the occasion.

Bottom line: if you love parks, community events, or just having new places to explore nearby, this is one project you’ll definitely want to watch over the next year.

This Area Will BOOM in Wichita KS in 2026 (Here’s Why)

There's one part of Wichita right now where the investment is stacking up faster than anywhere else in the metro. Infrastructure, development, schools, housing — all happening at the same time, in the same corridor.

In my experience, that's exactly what it looks like right before a part of a city changes. I break it all down in this week's video.
