It's good to be back in town and getting back into the swing of things! Feels like it got hot the second we pulled into the driveway, so we've been outside playing with water toys and going through what feels like a year's worth of sidewalk chalk. Kayla and I also drove around getting some house inspo (I love the one above!), and we squeezed in a movie night with the girls that they absolutely loved.
In other news, Father's Day is this Sunday and Wichita has a ton of ways to celebrate Dad without breaking the budget, I've got a packed lineup of weekend events from Taco Fest to Weird Al, and this week's video digs into a suburb that went from 2,100 people to nearly 7,000... and the one thing about the schools you'll want to know before you buy.
Let’s get into it!

Father’s Day Is Here!
Father's Day is this Sunday, June 21, and if you're still figuring out how to celebrate Dad, Wichita has plenty of options—from all-you-can-eat brunch buffets and free admissions to classic cars, airplanes, animals, and even pickleball.

One of the biggest Father's Day perks this year is that dads can enjoy free admission at Botanica and free admission to the Sedgwick County Zoo with the purchase of an additional admission ticket. The zoo will also be hosting its popular Father's Day Car Show, combining two dad favorites in one place: animals and cool cars.
If your dad enjoys aviation, don't miss Stearman's 19th Annual Fly-In on Saturday, June 20. You'll get to watch airplanes arrive throughout the day while enjoying food, live music, and one of the most unique dining settings in the Wichita area.
Looking for brunch? Several Wichita restaurants are offering special buffet experiences for the holiday weekend. Popular options include brunch buffets at Chicken N Pickle, 54 Craft & Co., YaYa’s EuroBistro, and Newport Grill to name a few. The annual brunch buffet at Doo-Dah Diner has also become a favorite for families looking to treat Dad to something a little extra special. Reservations are recommended wherever available.
For families looking to celebrate without spending much, there are plenty of budget-friendly options too. Spend the day exploring Old Cowtown Museum, which offers free Sunday admission during the summer season, or visit the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, where admission is free on Sundays.
Whether your dad prefers brunch, classic cars, motorcycles, the zoo, history, airplanes, or simply spending time together, there are plenty of ways to make Father's Day memorable this weekend without breaking the budget.

In 2000, this Wichita suburb had about 2,100 people. Today it's pushing close to 7,000, and it's still climbing. I broke down exactly why families keep landing here, what it actually costs to build new, and the one thing about the schools you need to know before you buy. New video is up! Check it out below!
