Pumpkin Patch Roundup!

Looking for fun fall adventures close to home? The Wichita area has several fantastic pumpkin patches offering more than just pumpkins—they’re full of activities, sweet memories, and day-trip vibes. Here’s a roundup to help you plan your outings:

Applejack Pumpkin Patch

Cedar Creek Farm & Pumpkin Patch (Maize, NW Wichita)

Just northwest of Wichita, Cedar Creek offers a family-friendly atmosphere with a petting zoo, a corn maze, pony rides, barrel train, and more.

Applejack Pumpkin Patch & Event Venue (Augusta / East Wichita)

Only about 6 miles east of Wichita, this patch is super accessible. Applejack features a corn and milo maze, hayrack rides, barrel trains, zip lines, petting zoo, bounce areas, balance courses, and more.

Marietta Farm Pumpkin Patch (Andover, East of Wichita)

Located just off US-54 in Andover, Marietta Farm is loaded with kid-friendly features: live animals, games, corn crib, zip line, hay bale barnyard, train rides, playground, and more.

Meadowlark Farm Orchard & Cidery (Rose Hill, East of Wichita)

This spot gives farm plus orchard vibes. You can pick your own pumpkins, explore nature trails, enjoy picnic spaces, and browse their farm store with baked goods, jams, and ciders.

Klausmeyer Farm & Pumpkin Patch (Clearwater, Southwest of Wichita)

A little further out (roughly ~24 minutes SW of Wichita), this farm brings a full slate: you-pick pumpkins from the vine, a 5-acre corn maze, petting zoo, hay wagon rides, gem mining, jumping pillows, demo tours, plus haunted attractions in October.

Mr. Gourdman’s Pumpkin Patch (Derby, South of Wichita)

Close to Wichita, Mr. Gourdman’s sits on a working horse ranch with a 15-acre lake. Included attractions with admission: hayrack rides, corn maze, canoeing & fishing (bring tackle), nature trails, large campfire, playground, and more.

Walter’s Pumpkin Patch (Burns, Northeast of Wichita)

About 30 minutes (or more) northeast, Walter’s is a large, well-known fall destination. With a 30-acre pick-your-own patch, corn maze, bounce pillows, playgrounds, petting animals, and seasonal events, it’s worth the drive for a full day of festivities.

P & M Pumpkin Ranch (Moundridge, North of Wichita)

Up north, roughly 45 minutes away, P & M offers a bigger farm-festival feel. Expect pig races, obstacle courses, barn games, rides, and more than enough to fill a half or full day.

Why Visit These Patches?

  • Fun for all ages: Many offer a mix of free and ticketed activities—mazes, train or wagon rides, corn pits, animals, inflated jumpers, games & photo ops.

  • Pumpkin options: Some let you pick directly from the vine; others have pre-picked displays.

  • Scenic fall settings: Fields, orchards, walking paths, and wide open spaces make for great photo backdrops.

  • Seasonal charm: Some farms extend into cider, baked goods, farm stores, and October-night events.

Planning tip: Always double-check a patch’s current hours, admission prices, and any seasonal or weekend extras before heading out. Subscribe to their newsletters or social media to catch early announcements or special events.
