What a soaker of a week! Wichita’s been drenched—over 1.4 billion gallons of rainwater made its way into Cheney Lake, raising water levels by 7 inches. As someone who’s prayed for rain during this drought… I’ll take it (even if our backyard looks more like a swamp right now).

The good news? Rain or shine, Riverfest kicks off TODAY! From concerts and fireworks to kayaking and corndogs, it’s nine days of downtown fun you won’t want to miss.

Riverfest 2025 is Here!

Wichita’s biggest summer celebration kicks off May 30th and runs through June 7th — get ready for nine days of fun, music, food, and festivities in the heart of downtown.

• River Adventures: Kayaking, paddleboarding, and more on the Arkansas River
