I can't believe we already visited our first pumpkin patch of the year! These photos are from yesterday at Klausmeyer Pumpkin Patch, one of our favorites. We got to see some animals, ride the bee barrels, and watch the pig races! Now if only it would cool off lol.

In other news, Open Streets ICT is taking over two miles of Douglas Avenue this Sunday, I've got a full lineup of weekend events from Latin Fest to a drift driving school, and this week's video is a local's guide to College Hill... one of Wichita's most talked-about neighborhoods, with a full year of MLS data and the surprising real story behind its name.

Let’s get into it!

Open Streets ICT Is Taking Over Douglas!

One of Wichita’s most fun fall traditions is back! Open Streets ICT is taking over Douglas Avenue this Sunday, turning about two miles of one of Wichita’s busiest streets into a giant, car-free playground for the afternoon. From Grove Street to Waco Street, the road will be closed to motorized traffic so people can walk, bike, run, skate and explore Wichita from a completely different perspective.

Along the route, you’ll find local businesses, food vendors, interactive activities, live music, performances and plenty of things to stop and check out. There will also be three main activity hubs at Kennedy Plaza, Naftzger Park and East High School, each offering family-friendly activities and fitness opportunities.

You don’t have to be super active to enjoy it! You can bring the kids, grab a coffee or lunch along the route, browse local businesses, walk with friends, bring your bike or even bring your dog. It’s a fun excuse to get outside, try something new and explore parts of Douglas Avenue you might normally just drive through.

And honestly, events like this are one of the best ways to get to know more of the city you live in! You might discover a new business, neighborhood or favorite spot along the way. Plus, it’s FREE!

This week's video breaks down College Hill, one of Wichita's most talked-about neighborhoods, including the surprising real story behind its name, its near-miss history as a planned college town, and a full year of MLS data pulled straight from the source: a median sale price of $335,500, four price tiers from the high-$100,000s to over $1.4 million, and homes typically going under contract in about a week. It also covers the walkable streets, local food scene, and an honest look at what it's really like to own one of these century-old homes.
