Fall is finally here! I always joke that this is my favorite two weeks of the year because it seems to fly by so fast, but we've been soaking it up by playing outside a lot more and taking our annual trip to Menards to decorate the front porch. It's also Parade of Homes right now, so we've been out looking at all the pretty new houses.

In other news, north Wichita could be getting a $38 million Barry Sanders Football Complex, I've got a full lineup of weekend events from the Drone Light Festival to the Downtown Chili Cookoff, and this week's video digs into Park City's big bets... including what I found after pulling all 165 home sales up there, and the line running through town that's worth about $80,000 depending on which side you land on.

A pretty exciting project could be taking shape in north Wichita! The City of Wichita, Wichita Parks & Recreation, Wichita Parks Foundation and the Sanders family are working to raise funds for a new Barry Sanders Football Complex at Dr. Glen Dey Park. The proposed $38 million, two-phase project would turn the park into a regional football destination with five synthetic turf fields, a championship field and stadium, a plaza, concessions, restrooms and a covered stage area. A second phase would add a covered track, operations building and additional restrooms. The goal is to create a place where local youth can play and compete while also attracting regional tournaments and teams to Wichita, potentially bringing more visitors and economic activity to the area. The city is currently fundraising for the project, including sponsorship opportunities and a “Build the Legacy” campaign where individuals can purchase a personalized commemorative brick for $200.

In 2007, Park City lost its biggest employer and watched a brand new amusement park fold within weeks. Almost twenty years later that same building is open again, Amazon is up the road, and a new elementary school just opened in the district half the town feeds into, while the half billion dollar project they broke ground on two years ago is still a field. So I pulled all 165 home sales up there from the last twelve months to see what any of it did to prices, and the answer surprised me enough that it changed my advice on buying there. I also get into the line running through that town that's worth about eighty thousand dollars if you land on the right side of it.
