Happy Friday! This week we took the girls to see the new live action Moana and they had a blast. For those who know us, Moana is one of our all time favorites, so every time a new version comes out we have to see it in theaters. We also hit up Pizza Ranch for the first time in forever and played at the arcade (I won a jackpot for 1,000 tickets, no big deal). And to top it off, I found a praying mantis in my house, which is only like the 3rd one I've ever seen in real life!

In other news, Children's Mercy just officially opened its brand-new pediatric specialty clinic here in Wichita, I've got a full lineup of weekend events from a bacon and bourbon fest to a free ice cream social, and this week's video is my Top 8 Hot Takes on living in Wichita... and fair warning, a couple of these are going to make you want to argue with me.

You might remember us sharing the news when this project was first announced—but now it's official! Children's Mercy Wichita has officially opened its brand-new specialty care clinic, bringing nationally recognized pediatric specialists even closer to home for families across south-central Kansas.

Located at 3150 N. Greenwich Road, the new 18,000-square-foot facility features 30 exam rooms and is designed to make specialty pediatric care more convenient, allowing families to spend less time traveling to Kansas City and more time focused on what matters most—their child's health. The clinic brings together multiple pediatric specialties under one roof, making it easier to coordinate appointments and receive expert care close to home.

This is a huge win for Wichita and the surrounding region. For years, Children's Mercy has served local families through satellite clinics, but this new standalone location greatly expands its ability to care for thousands of children each year while meeting the growing demand for pediatric specialty services.

Beyond the convenience, the clinic represents a major investment in our community. Families who once faced frequent trips out of town for specialized care will now have access to many of those services right here in Wichita. That means less time on the road, fewer missed days of school and work, and more opportunities for children to receive the expert care they need closer to their support systems.

It's exciting to see another major healthcare investment become a reality in Wichita, and one that will make a lasting difference for local families for years to come.
