Hey friends, hope you’re having a great week! Christmas has officially started at our house. My wife started decorating already, and our girls keep asking how many days are left! Wichita’s getting festive too with tree lightings, concerts, and the Turkey Trot this weekend. We also had some big local news with a fast-growing school making a major move, plus a new video breaking down what HOA life is really like here and some new listings to check out.

Classical School of Wichita is Growing!

The Classical School of Wichita just made a major move: they purchased nearly 50 acres of land from Koch’s real estate holdings near 45th Street and Hillside to build a future K-12 campus.
This expansion comes at a timely moment — the school has been growing by roughly 20% annually, and leadership says the bigger campus will help accommodate that steady rise in enrollment.
In addition to this new land acquisition, the school is also buying existing school buildings: they recently purchased Clark Elementary (part of Wichita Public Schools) to serve as their upper campus (grades 7–12). Renovations are already underway, and the school hopes to use the building as soon as January.
Why this matters for our community:
Long-term vision: By investing in a full K-12 campus, Classical School is signaling deep roots in Wichita.
Meeting demand: Rapid enrollment growth shows strong demand for classical education in the region.
Strategic growth: Owning land and buildings gives the school flexibility for future programs, athletic fields, and campus facilities.
Economic impact: A new campus could bring more families, jobs, and development activity to the Hillside/45th area.
Overall, this land deal is a big step forward for the school’s mission — and for families in the Wichita area who value classical, rigorous education. As the plans take shape, we’ll keep an eye on updates: site design, building timeline, and what the new campus could look like.
