From 83 degrees to 30… we’ve had quite a week of Wichita weather! Before it got cold again we managed to sneak in some bike rides with the girls and even fired up the grill for the first time this year. We sat out on the back deck while the sun went down and for a minute it felt like spring had officially arrived.

Now we’re back to jackets again… but hopefully not for long.

This week we’ve got a lot going on around Wichita. I’ll share details on one of the city’s most fun spring traditions happening in Delano this weekend, a full list of local events if you’re looking for something to do, and a new video where I break down something pretty unusual happening in Wichita’s housing market right now.

Let’s get into it!

Delano Paddy Day Parade!

One of Wichita’s favorite spring traditions is almost here! The Delano Paddy Day Parade has become a beloved annual celebration in the historic Delano District, bringing together families, local businesses, and thousands of people dressed head-to-toe in green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Over the years, what started as a neighborhood celebration has grown into a lively community festival filled with floats, marching groups, food trucks, and a full day of festivities in the heart of one of Wichita’s most historic districts.

This year’s celebration takes place Saturday, March 14, 2026, and the fun starts well before the parade itself. Beginning at 10:00 AM, the Delano district transforms into a full street festival with a food truck rally, street party, kids zone, drink trucks, and live music throughout the day. The parade officially kicks off at 12:00 PM, traveling west along Douglas Avenue from McLean Boulevard to Walnut Street, with colorful floats, marching bands, dancers, and plenty of festive Irish flair filling the streets.

Families will love the Kids Zone (10 AM–3 PM) with games and activities, while adults can enjoy the street party atmosphere with food trucks, drinks, and a live DJ keeping the energy going into the afternoon. The Street Party and Food Truck Rally runs from 10 AM to 6 PM, making it easy to spend the whole day exploring Delano’s shops, restaurants, and festive celebrations.

Best of all, the parade and festivities are completely free to attend, making it one of the most accessible and fun community celebrations of the season. So grab your green shirts, shamrock hats, and maybe a pair of leprechaun socks, and head to Delano for a day full of Irish spirit, community fun, and one of Wichita’s most festive traditions.

If you’re looking for a lively way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Wichita, the Delano Paddy Day Parade is the place to be! 🍀
